The year is 1962. Fading film star Bridgette Van Kamp has been a total recluse since the end of the Second World War, relying on the good will of her only daughter, Cassidy, to maintain contact with the outside world. 

But Cassidy is coming into her own: she’s seventeen and counting, the Spring Fling is coming up and she’s found a boy she’d like to date… that is, if she can quell her sudden and unexplainable bloodlust. And what of the dark secret that lies underneath her Mother’s refusal to leave the house?
