Almost, Maine
Almost, Maine is a play by John Cariani, comprising nine short plays that explore love and loss in a remote, mythical almost-town called Almost, Maine. It premiered at the Portland Stage Company in Portland, Maine in 2004 where it broke box office records and garnered critical acclaim. This play explores love in its rawest form, from strangers meeting, long term relationships struggling to stay afloat, mourning the one that got away, and yearning for someone to be yours. We invite you to follow the journey taken by its characters; real people who have experienced hardship and heartbreak but lead with their hearts open. It’s happy, charming, and whimsical; it’s got some funny moments, some heartbreaking, and some beautiful moments of magic facilitated by unfiltered romance, all making it a truly unique experience.
