The Angel of Death
Set in the 16th century, during the time of Queen Elizabeth I and the Spanish Armada, an untold event unfolded. The birth of the Grim Reaper (or the Angel of Death) defined the world as we know it now. But how did he become this guardian of lost souls? This musical explores unanswered questions associated with his origin. A mother (Margret) and daughter (Michelle) are thrown into turmoil after the assassination of their husband and father (Death). But what happens to him next is unbelievable; he is transformed into the Angel of Death by the afterlife’s divine creatures (God and the Devil). Following his transformation, he seeks his revenge while also embracing his newfound purpose. Meanwhile, a war is imminent with the approach of the Spanish Armada, led by Alonso Perez de Guzman and his mother (Maria). The axe wielding Queen Elizabeth is unprepared and constantly screaming at her kingdom, consisting of Lord Burghley, Sir Francis Drake, the jester and her newly appointed knuckle head captains, Will and Harry. Will Death’s family be protected from this unknown assassin? Will Queen Elizabeth be prepared for the invasion of the Spanish Armada? Will Alonso Perez de Guzman listen to his mother Maria? Can the Angel of Death restore peace and balance to the World? All of these questions and more will be answered in this new 16th century musical…“The Angel of Death”. WARNING: ADULT THEMES 15+
