The Last Time I Saw Richard
Richard and April are drawn to each other by desire and the freedom to exist without the baggage of their day-to-day lives. An exquisite new work by Cat Commander produced by five.point.one.
April is smart and direct but directionless. Richard used to be a success. A casual hook-up becomes much more as they discover, to their surprise, that the freedom of their non-relationship allows them to articulate their insecurities and play out their desires.
Multi-award-winning company five.point.one bring another new Australian show to the 2015 Adelaide Fringe with The Last Time I Saw Richard. Cat Commander writes with precision, humour and heart about intimacy and isolation, our mistakes, fears and desires. Her characters are unsettlingly familiar and accurately drawn. The Last Time I Saw Richard showcases new Australian writing at its finest.
five.point.one produce quality Australian plays that entertain, enrich and challenge our audience. We have a strong focus on supporting emerging writers and also celebrate and perform the work of more established artists. We have a commitment to giving plays, both local and interstate, their first South Australian season. We believe theatre cannot, and should not, be made in isolation, and therefore we nurture a collaborative environment in the creation of work. We are playwrights, filmmakers, actors and computer programmers and all of these skills influence our approach to collaboration. We have a particular interest in integrating emerging technology into the theatrical form.
