Down Down Lucifer

Wednesday, 9 March 2016 to Sunday, 13 March 2016

Lucifer wants to be God. The only problem is the angels hate him, humans demonize him and his adversary is an all-powerful creator being at the head of an unbeatable celestial dictatorship. How will he ever collect enough souls to stage his coup?

A modern, dark and funny take on the devil myth. In this world premiere, Philippe Klaus (Wolf Creek 2, Rake, Home and Away) plays the fallen angel and boldly attempts to steal your soul.

“a terrific transformative actor…his natural gifts make him stand head and shoulders above others" (Robert Marchand)

‘Klaus is the most charmingly manipulative and disarming…[he] gradually elevates his taunting to the frequently macabre, tragic luridity that is the hallmark and easily most memorable feature of this play’ (Glen Falkenstein, ArtsHub Australia, on Bull.)

"This is a one-man show that does not flag. He is darkly manipulative in his attempts to steal your soul. More than that he is funny, controversial and slightly foul-mouthed."
Fran Edwards - Glam Adelaide
"Down Down Lucifer has a cracking script that veers from funny to dark intensity, putting a human touch to celestial matters. There’s history lessons and catchy tunes, and even an unforgettable sex scene."
Tony Shepherd - The Advertiser
